Smoked Pork Tamale Pie

Here is a Twist on something that has been  around a  while .. Tamale... with Smoked Pork

the pork, 11 lbs with bone in


Seasoned, sorry bout the bad pic

PID was set at 230 for the last hour before it was at 225

Length of cook 11 hr 24 min

Pulled at 185 because it was ready to pull

Out of the smoker

Pulled while hot

Chopped a bit smaller for the Tamales

Some Onions

Other goodies

Pork, onions and enchilada sauce

Olives

All mixed together and gonna let slow cook for a few hours then make the  rest of the pie,,, more to follow

You need to send that first batch to me to make sure it is worth eating! Love Tamales but have never attempted to make any.

yes and no,,,the yes part is above,  with  you  using your favorite seasoning on your  pulled pork  with whats above, the crust is using albers corn meal for tamale pie. Only difference is i Added cheese on the meat and another layer on top of the top layer of corn meal mixture

OH My, my grandmother used to make something similar. That looks excellent and brings back some great memories. thanks!!
