I couldn't take seeing the smoked Chex mix anymore so I threw a bag on this morning for 2 hours of Oak, and now the waiting and anticipating begins

Here's the finished product, the oak is a little strong but good, I'll probably stick to apple or pecan in the future. If it lasts it'll make a great road snack for the trip to Iowa this week. :)

Looks great, Saber. Safe travels, and watch out for deer at dusk and sunrise.
Some good looking road food!
Neps says we dont have deer here in Iowa. We have sides of beef crossing the road with deer antlers on them!

Yeah our whitetails are small compared to the Muley's up there, of course our hogs get up into the 250-300 pound range regularly and we get to hunt em year round and even from helicopters if you can afford the fuel and fees
Love smoked Chex! I've been known to melt some BUTTER, add woosy sauce and seasonings to the mix before smoking. (Or hot sauce) Toss around in large bowl. Then smoke.

I stop at Bolners in San Antonio when we get there. I'm sure there will be a few bottles of starnes at the bbq
