Title: Jerky today

Went to a local grocer last night, had butts advertised for 1.99, picked up a couple. Got there and they had choice eye round roasts for 2.99. They were beautiful, not a speck of fat to be found. Bought some up for jerky and dried beef. Got home and just HAD to slice up 5 lbs of it for jerky. Used Cabela's hickory flavored spice/cure blend, added a tsp of pequin pepper powder to kick it up a little. 2.5 hours of hickory/oak smoke at 160 then finished in the dehydrator. No pics except the finished product just before vac sealing, but at least it isn't unicorn jerky!(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/01/yje6ahyt.jpg)

Nevermind guys.  I'll swing by next Sunday on our way fishing to Devils Lake and do a quick QC for everyone.  LOL

That looks really good.  And I can't believe how cheap your meat prices are compared to here.

I don't know... looks kinda bad to me. Better send it to me for further inspection and proper disposal.  ;) ;D
