Welcome to the forum phaz! :)
Welcome phaz. Have fun with the ribs. Important to keep the pucks away from moisture of any kind.

VERY important advice from Iceman!! The pucks should be kept in plastic and away from humidity. Soak them and you'll end up with a pile of sawdust. I understand where the question comes from though.....wasn't that long ago that I used wood chips/chunks in smoking and still do in grilling. I've never been a big believer in presoaking wood for smoking/grilling though....when you think about it, the water has to convert to steam before the temps necessary to support oxidation of the fuel source can rise sufficiently enough to convert the fuel to smoke.
So you're saying wet wood don't burn and produce smoke until it dries enough? :D
Get after it Phaz , have a good smoke and don't be a stranger.

I like to read the technical descriptions of stuff, then bust on the writer by translating it to English, just to be a smart aleck. :D Happy you realized I was kidding with ya.
