Looks like you have a Maverick ET-72. If so, they are nice to have. A lot of bells and whistles packed into them.

I have the same one NePa.  Only thing is, I don't use it much anymore since I have the Polder dual probe and the ET-73.  The probe jack is flaky and now it occasionally switches between F and C randomly.

Nice pics. Still waiting for the VPN wormhole tunnel to move fatties throught the ether. I am ready on my end with the laser-pumped flux compression generators.

I'm now on my desk top and now can see it better. I often still use the Maverick ET-73 if I have multiple pieces or meat to monitor. I purchased an extra temperature probe, so with the ET-73 I can monitor two pieces of meat. The ET-72 I purchased, because it was too good of a deal to pass up. It's a real nice gadget.

I did not know the ET73 would work with two meat probes.   ??? Will the ET 72 work with the oven probe  ???

I have one of each. Never tried it but sure seems to be the way to go!

Yeah! You can monitor two internal temps, if you have two temperature probes. The only restriction I've found in doing this, is if you need to set two different temperatures, the highest temperature setting has to set on the meat probe connected to the smoker connector. This is necessary, because the ET-73 will not allow you to set the meat temperature higher then the smoker. The probe from you ET-72 will work with the ET-73. I had purchased an extra probe before I purchased the ET-72. If I had the ET-72 earlier I wouldn't have needed to buy the extra probe.

I've found that most of the probes are interchangeably. I just remembered one other limitation. If you use the ET-73 to monitor two meat temperatures, the probe that is hooked up to smoker connection cannot be set lower then 140°F, but that should cause any problems.

Habs, good info - thanks, it is probably just me that did not know and never tried it.  I like the high rack and low rack being monitored with the same device.   ;D

This may be good to move out onto a seperate thread.  ??? Thanks
