Just wounding if anyone has a onion ring batter recipe that they are willing to share.

thanks

This may seem odd, but as much as I love onion rings, I have never actually made any. My guess would be to add a little salt to some flour, dip rings in a bowl of beaten eggs, then coat with flour mixture and cook.

I don't make onion rings either, but here's the results of a Google search for 'onion ring batter' - just a matter of you picking what you think you like! https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=ssl#q=onion+ring+batter

Here's what we like:  3.5 oz/100gm flour, 2 egg yolks, 1 TBL oil, 5 oz milk.  Mix well, then frig for 30 minutes.  Whisk 'til fluffy, then fold in 1 egg white.  Coat rings, season as you like.  Deep fry.

Back when I was working in restaurant kitchens we made onion rings this way.

Slice large yellow onions into rings about 1/2 inch thick.

Separate rings and soak in buttermilk for 4 - 24 hours.

Dredge rings in seasoned flour.  (Lawry's Seasoned Salt and black pepper)

Dip rings in egg wash.  (about three eggs to a cup of milk)

Dredge rings in medium grind cracker meal.  (If you can, let the rings sit in the cracker meal for a few minutes to form a better coating.)

Fry at 375F until golden brown.
