Door Installation help

Can some one explain how i remove the top cover so i can insert the door onto the brackets.didn't want to just jerk the top cap off.

NO-one? I got this new door and the little metal rod seems to be attached to the top cap.This things is becoming a pain in my butt.

Note to self.. be smarter than the smoker.. the bracket slides under the pin and goes up. Not.. repeat not over the top of the pin.... finally the beast is up and running.
