Everything looks good. When I make 3 pounds of Syracuse Salted Potatoes I can easily eat 2 pounds myself.  Don't they look like powdered donut holes after you take the out of the water and they dry off. :)

Habs, I gave up my secret and told my wife you were the inspiration behind the Syracuse Salted Potatoes.  She now would like to offer you a proposition of matrimony  :o  She figures you can cook and you have a job..... Unfortunately, I cannot compete with that right now  ;D ;D ;)

Don't sell yourself short there Duck,
Just remind her of the great qualities in you that she fell in love with.  How great you were to her over the years.  How you have been there in good times and in bad.  For better or worse, you have been there taking care of her.  If memory serves, you have kids and have been a great father to them over the years.

Then if that doesn't work, just hit her up with what child support and alomony will cost here if she strays.   ;D   Just kidding there Mrs. Duck.

Tell here you have always loved her in good times and in bad, and nothing will ever change that for you.  A bright future is on the horizon.   :)

SD;

That is the best offer I had all year, but she would get sick of me quick.  ;D

In the very near future when you are employed, she's going to think; "What in the world was I thinking!"  :)

Oh, I know guys.  She was just joking.  That's the beauty of our relationship.....we're with each other through thick and thin.  I guess the silver lining through the whole situation has been that our marriage is as strong as ever.  Sure, the pressure of financial struggles is high, but there hasn't ever been a moment where we would consider breaking up.  So, perhaps this little test I'm going through is for a reason (I sure like to think it's for a reason anyways  :)).  Oh well, the wife and I are seriously considering moving out of this area.....heck, even the NY Times has done a big piece on how Elkhart, IN is at the epicenter of the financial meltdown.  The rest of the country is at 6% unemployment and we're up near 10%.  This area is heavily centered around manufacturing and more specifically, mobile home and RV manufacturing, and times are bad for those right now. My problem is that I have too much education.  I'm willing to take any position I can and most won't even consider me because of my degrees.  They figure I'll leave at the first sight of something better. If anyone knows of a good location that's hiring, I'm there.  By the way, I'd like some place that stays around 70F year round.  That way, I could still smoke cheese and play golf year round  :P

Anyways, I digress.  The meal was absolutely fantastic and now my wife has her favorite all-time potato dish.  Life is good!

I plan on making some on Saturday. Will let you all know how it goes over. I just can't imagine 14 oz of salt.
;D

I used the Morton's Sea Salt and it takes dang near a whole canister of it.  However, it's a small price to pay for something that comes out as tender as they do and that's so easy to make.  You won't be disappointed......next time I do it, I'm doubling the butter and chives.  I wanna go out grabbing my chest  :o ;D

I'd be willing to bet a year's wages on the fact that probably 9/10 of the folks on the board would be in favor of doubling the butter.  Any takers  ??? ;) ;D
