CaneyScud,
Way better than mutton.  There are some BBQ joints around here that serve mutton.  I am not fond of it at all.  It has too strong of a taste for me.

In a big family of cattle and goat ranchers I had one distant cousin that was a sheepfarmer.  He took quite a bit or ribbing from the kinfolk.  He would always bring a whole sheep to the reunions.  It would get the pit treatment that the rest of the meat did.  Usually had a lot of that left over.  I thought it was pretty good - I like strong flavored meats, but apparently others did not.  But never did eat much with so much of the other meats available.  Every time I'm up in your neck of the woods or in Owensboro I want to try it, but can't get anyone else to commit.

I don't get a lot of lamb myself. Wife doesn't care for it and I like it.
We have a friend of ours that has a small ranch in Wyoming (125,000 acres) just south of Gillette. He raises sheep and steer but all we eat is the beef when we are there.
