Hey guys, was wondering if this was safe or not. My dad has a rotisserie attachment on his grill. I have the smoker, my parents live about 20 minutes away. I was wondering if it would be safe to smoke the chicken for 1-2 hours, pull it out and put it into a cooler. Take it over there and let him finish it. He was interested in maybe doing it for a small family gathering and I wouldn't have a problem with it, just wasn't sure if it was safe.

It would more than likely be safe but....

In my book, it would be more trouble than what you would get out of it.  I would use the rotisserie and use a foil packet of wood for the smoke.

WOW! Sounds fantasic!

maybe if the chicken was brined first.

I'm not saying it is safe to do, but some thoughts.

#1 The "smoke" would need to be above 250*

#2 No Time wasted getting it wrapped in two layers of foil and multi towels.

#3 No Time wasted getting it back to temp in the rotisserie attachment

Just put the Bradley in the front passenger seat with seat belt on of course and let

everyone else ride in the back seat and take the smoker to Dad's. ;D

I don't know what vehicle you are driving, but it would be safer to transport your Bradley to your parent's home and apply the smoke over there. That 20 minute ride can easily turn into 40 minutes or more until you get the chicken on the rotisserie.

Or I would suggest following Gizmo advise or use your bisquettes on your parent's grill to apply smoke. I haven't used whole bisquettes to smoke with yet, but here is a link that explains how to do so.
