Yesterday I learned how easy it was to make my own butter.  It only took about 10 minutes and man was it good.  So this weekend I'm going to make some more, but this time smoke it!  Should be interesting!

The last time I made it, I put the bowl and whisk for the KA mixer in the freezer for a while.

I think I used 2 cups of heavy cream.

Whip it past whipped cream and you have unsalted butter. Salt to taste.

If you get the salt in there and keep it sealed tight it should last as long as commercial butter. The ingredients on my butter are pasteurized cream and salt. nothing I can't pronounce.

Heavy cream in a jar and shake it forever. Separate the lumps from the butter milk (save for pancakes!) Rinse the lumps in a strainer then smoosh them together and refrigerate.
