I'm not much on soup, but I could go with that and be satisfied.  Looks delish!

Soup warms the heart.  ;D

When the wife gets home she said she will give up the goods and put it on here for me  ;D

I kind of like to eat my dinner with a fork (and knife) or using my hands like a sandwich or such. So I was thinking if you put the lid back on that bowl I could eat it like a really messy sandwich...maybe having to lick my fingers all the way up to my elbows!  ;)

All Measurements are Approximate:
Small Batch
6 Cups Water
3-4 Cubes of Chicken Bullion
4 lbs Potatoes small cubed
4 Stalks Celery Chopped
15-20 Baby Carrots Chopped
6 Mushrooms Chopped
3/4 lb Bacon (Preferably homemade smoked, but store bought peppered bacon will do in a pinch)
1 Block 2% Velveeta Cheese

Add bullion, potatoes, celery, carrots and mushrooms to boiling water.
Cut up bacon into @ 1 inch pieces and fry. Drain grease off of bacon and add to pot with potatoes & other veggies.
Boil until potatoes & carrots are done, but not getting mushy.
Add salt & pepper to your preference @ 1-1/2 tsp each.
I add a little of something from the spice rack @1tsp, Rosemary, Marjoram, Italian Seasoning whatever spice I feel like at the moment, sometimes I get really wildand add a couple!
Turn heat down to low-med low.
Cut Velveeta into @ 1 inch cubes.
Slowly add 3-5 pieces of cheese at a time stirring into melt.
Keep adding cheese until desired taste of cheese and consistency.
Sometimes need the whole block of cheese sometimes not.
Some of our family/friends like a thinner soup & some like it thicker, so I make accordingly to who is eating with us that night.

Cut off top of bread bowl (I try to get Sheppard's bread, but the sour dough sounds awesome. )
I just use my fingers to pull out pieces of the inside, try to pull out in 1" or so pieces to hollow out and make a "bowl"
SAVE the pieces in a bowl to serve for dipping!
Put bread bowl in an actual bowl, they do leak sometimes , and when you get around to eating the bowl it's pretty handy.
Ladle soup into bred bowl & set cut off top of bread on side/top and serve.
Serve with salt pepper and \Tobasssco to taste

Thanks for the recipe Mrs wyoduke.   Printed out the recipe and it's on my bucket list!!  I've had countless bread bowls filled with Clam Chowder and a bunch with Chili so this soup should be great ...
