Man O Man that looks gooood!

Care to share the recipe and how the bowel is made?

Use to have soup in a bread bowel at a bar called Brownies all the time.

Sweet Bread Starter bread bowls sounds delish. You guys are on to something. I clicked on the picture supplied and it appears to make it work I think the dough would need to bake on a baking sheet so it can get exposure to an unprotected heat to form the crust on all sides. I think the crust would be important to seal in the soup once the bun top is separated and the inside of the bun scooped out.

Thoughts?

Thats what I was thinkin, bake the bread "Free Form" and scoop out the inerts.

Just pandering how big to make the loafs.

I would imagine there is a "Pan" out there somewhere that would work

to make these.

Soup sounds good but I love the bread bowl.

As for size I am guesstimating about an 8-10 oz dough ball or divide Sonny's recipe in to four for 4 bowls.  Here is what I found on the www.ehow.com website.

Baking and Serving
#
1

Shape the dough into a round loaf again and using a serrated knife, cut it into four equal parts. Knead each part just enough to form it into a round mini-loaf.
#
2

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Then lightly grease each of the cookie sheets. You will be baking two loaves on each sheet.
#
3

Place two loaves on each cookie sheet allowing enough space in between for them to double in size, and then cover with a dish towel. Allow the loaves to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
#
4

Bake the loaves until they are golden brown. It will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Watch them closely so they do not burn on the bottom. Remove them from the oven and allow them too cool on the cookie sheet until you can handle them. Then move them to a wire rack to cool completely.
#
5

Just before serving tear or cut the tops out of each loaf. Gently remove the inside of the loaf leaving about a half inch to an inch of bread along the sides and bottom to create a bowl. Fill the bowl with soup, include the tops and insides on the plate for dipping and serve

I'm not much on soup, but I could go with that and be satisfied.  Looks delish!
