Always cook a nice roaster of bbq ribs slow cooked for 12 hours or so. And a nother of krault and ribs cooked the same. But this year just me and the wife. So trying to figure a good smoked meal.

We always have an open house on New Year's Day for somewhere between 40 and 80 people.  I make ham, black-eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, and pecan pie (all of which are considered "exotic" in Hawaii).  Other people bring raw fish (bait?) and whatever.  What else would you conceivably serve on New Year's Day?

At a minimum; black eyed peas for luck, and some type of greens for prosperity.

Leftover haggis from Hogmanay!!!!

Just kidding.  I may wear a kilt but it doesn't mean I have to eat haggis.

I will be at work so for me it will probably be a bento.

Well menu has chanced! I cut up a large pork butt in to country style ribs to smoke. Then we will splint into 2 crock pots and add shacks BBQ to one and Sauerkraut to the other. Some home made baked beans with Smoked sausage,BBQ Sauce,Hot peppers, onions oh yeah and Smoked Bacon! And what ever else she comes up with.
