NePaSmoKer just a question.  Was the skin crispy as have done wings in my Traeger and the skin is not crisp.

Savanna, welcome to the forum. Could it be we will see a Bradley out back with the Traeger and the Big Easy? Finish your wings in the  Big Easy after the smoke. Best wings I've ever had. Nepa is the Traeger expert here though.

Savannahsmoker

Thanks Smokin Soon, came here based on your recommadation in The Big Easy forum.

I can get the skin crispy. Do you have a digital control or just the 3 position switch.

I have the digital control but the skin never gets cripsy like a grill or rotiseries so what I dois put the chicken in The Big Easy for 20nminutes to crisp the skin.

I have a digital 180LV multi temp controller on mine. I can get 450* on it.

Do you pre heat your traeger. I my 180LV multi temp might operate different than the controller you have.

NePaSmoKer, always preheat but let me ask this.  How much of a temp swing you get with the 180 LV at 180 and 225 degrees.

+/- 5*

Also depends on how cold it is, thats a big factor up here.  I did a pork shoulder 2 weeks ago @180 for 9 hours, finished the other 6 hours @225. The bone slid right out.
