1st Pork Butt

I decided to try a pork butt this weekend. Since it was just the two of us I got 6.5lb butt. It rained Saturday so I got up early this morning and started to smoke it. I picked up some cherry yesterday, so I wanted to use it.



2 hours into the smoke



After 3 hours of smoke. I would have liked to have done 4 hours, however we running late for church.



The wife was the first one in the house, and she loved the smell. I FTC'd for 3 hours till dinner.



The bone came out clean. It was so juicy.




Overall we had a good dinner. We have some leftover tomorrow. My wife thinks it is hilarious that I take pictures of the meat and post them on line. She is also happy , because now she has some ideas for presents.

Don't worry York she will get used to it!! My Kids ask whenever I grill or smoke something "Dad did you get pictures of it so we can eat?

My kids still ask why I am photographing food, although the four year old wanted me to take a picture of his grilled cheese the other day.
