I bought one and when I unpacked it came with an extra piece, a flat piece of steel with a hole cut in it the same size as the opening of the adapter.   Nowhere in the instructions does it saw what it's for.   Anyone know?

RAF,
The plate you are describing is a plate that would be used to connect the cold smoke unit to a Bradley Propane Smoker.  If you have no use for it, don't throw it away.  Every once in a while a fellow member of the forum will ask if anyone has one they want to part with so they can use it to mount a smoke generator to a different type of smoker.

RAF128, welcome to the forum, hope you have a great time with your smoker.

If you find you don't need or want that adaptor, I need and want and if reasonable will buy from you.

Just pm me if you decide you want to get rid of it. Thanks

KyNola

There you go RAF.  Told ya someone would have a use for it!

Thanks for the answers.   Now I won't lose sleep at night wondering ;).  You know, I've been looking at those propane smokers.   They portable and am thinking of getting one.   Until I decide for sure, I'd better hang onto this thing.

NP RAF, if you want to get rid of it, just let me know.

I have a BPS and want to adapt it to a homemade box but still have it available to use with portable racks.

I have a tracing of the adaptor and I can get one made locally.

Hey Classicrockgriller

I just received my cold smoker , if you want the plate let me know.  I don't plan on getting a BPS and wont need the plate.

Mike, Thanks as I too order a cold smoke adaptor and now I have something to copy if I need an extra.

I appreciate it.

Hey Mike how's the weather up in my old stomping grounds. I lived out the Blackwater on the "Punchaw ranch" for 6 years. I loved that place. But like my boss told when I moved up there "best damn job in the world, but the pay sucks"LOL. He was the best.
The Punchaw ranch was the old stage coach stop between Quesnel, Prince George and Vanderhoof cause that was they road to the north till they built the highway later. Punchaw was 60 miles form Quesnel, 50 miles from Prince and 55 miles from vanderhoof which was about as long as you wanted to sit in a stagecouch for one day. Part of the old barn where they kept the couch horses was sitll there but the top section had crumbled and all that was left was the lower walls and ceiling.
I like to walk threw life on the path of least resistance. But sometimes the path needs a good kick in the ass.

Hey Quarlow

We are having a great fall, we had one snow fall, then it warmed up and rained and all the snow melted.  It is really weird being Nov 7 and still having green grass :)  I hope this means we will have a mild winter.  Prince George is doing well, the economy is  slowly start to come back, we did have a number of sawmills and plywood mill close.  It seems the Prince Georges economy is not so tied to the logging industry anymore.
