Problems with Smoking Peanuts

Took this 3lb 4oz can and divided it in half.
Half were soaked in Franks's Hot Wing Sauce, the other half in McIlhenny's Smoked Chipotle Sauce.



I started them out in two pyrex dishes and then transfered to this screen



I smoked with Hickory and they were delicious



Divided each of those and vac seal for a couple of days.



The problem was not with the peanuts but with what I smoked the peanuts in. Like I stated I used two pyrex
casserole dishes. I wasn't thinking about all the smoke getting allover the dishes. Well one was "Grandma's"
that had a floral design on the outside. I cleaned it up best I could and put it up before I got caught but left
the other one out. Wifie goes to put it up and see her prize is now brown. She is pissed and I think I need to
go to camp NOW!

Vinegar might cut some of that stuff off..

Or a baking soda paste. (not at the same time, or you'll have a volcano to clean up!)

CRG been there and done that. Slept in the dog house a couple of nights. Bleached the heck out of th prize dish and did what Steve Martin did in the Dad of the Bride 2. Went down on my knees and begged to be back. Well it worked; out of the goodness of her heart.

I was just going to say that  ;D  Mine was white Corning ware holding ice for my first cold smoked cheese.  Not a happy outcome.  Any very mild abrasive like Bon Ami or (I think it is ) Barkeepers Friend will allow you to scrub the color off without damaging the surface.

Don't forget to take your nuts with you to deer camp or the DEAR might do some bad things to them while your gone!
