i just order the 4 rack digital smoker.
Question for all who read.
What was the first thing that you smoked?
I love grilling but this is my first experience with a smoker.

Hi keanjr and welcome to the forum.  Pork is a pretty safe bet.  Either ribs or a Boston butt.  If ribs, get the cheapest ones you can find for experimenting.  The butt takes a lot longer cook time.

Keep the vent 3/4 to full open running at about 220.  Low and slow takes time.

For rubs, sauces and recipes go to www.susanminor.org.  A lot of great stuff there.

This smoking stuff is addictive.

I smoked a Pork butt (boston butt) first.

I did some chicken drummies w/ a store bought rub...    It was an 'after work' smoke and I wanted something that could go start-to-finish in a couple hours - just to see how this thing worked.

thanks to all for the comments. another question.
I am looking for a good deal online for the bisquetts and I have found a place that i can buy in bulk.
Is there a shelf life on the bisquettes?

I'm sure there is, but it is probably measured in years.

I live in a high-humidity environment, I keep mine in a Rubbermaid tub and any open packages go in a plastic zip bag.

They don't hang around here long enough for me to find out.

Hi keanjr and welcome to the forum. To your first question I crashed and burned with brisket. I first that I smoked and liked was/were chicken wings soaked in Italian dressing overnight and smoked with mesquite. The ABTs are also quite tasty.

As to your second question I have no idea. I've been at this for a couple of months.

Hey keanjr,
What place did you find you can buy in bulk?  We would all be interested in that if they sell online.

Hi keanjr and welcome to the forum.

The first thing I smoked the afe and easy chicken. It was great. As for the second question, I would agree with FLBR, I would expect it for a couple of years at least.

I am not as "think" as you "drunk" I am.

I first tried some simple farm sausage in my BS, it turned out well and was a easy smoke!

Welcome keanjr, crashed and burned on my first three. Did chicken on the first and second and cheese on the third attempt. Finally got it figured out after that and made some killer cheese, sausage, jerky, and chicken!

I did not get a call back from the company that sells in bulk but I was able to find them on ebay for $36.50 for 120 which comes out to be .30 per. As long as i can get them for under .33 each that will be good. the ebay seller is dealdash4biz. they sale for $31.01 and 7.50 shipping or you can make an offer.
