Are you running both heating elements off of the PID? If so, your overloading the SSR as it's only rated for one element. Replace it with a 40 amp SSR.

As far as I know the Auber "Plug & Play" units are rated at 1440 watts to 1800 watts depending on the model. Also, if this was a home built unit and Auber parts were used, I believe the smallest SSR they sell is a 25 amp which at 120v equates to 3000 watts. I don't think running 1000 watts (2 elements) would exceed the load it was designed for in any of the above situations.

Mine is home built and has a 25 amp SSR running 2 elements and has never missed a beat.
