PID or No PID, that is the question..

Edit: Yeah, okay I went back to the site. Says you need an extra power cord if you're going to smoke for over 13 hours. I'm such a pack rat, I probably have a cord that'll fit anyway.

That means you don't need the extra power cord if you're smoking for less than 13 hours?  Hmmm.   ;D ;D

I don't have a PID.  As others have said it's good for tighter temp control when doing fish or sausage.  I haven't done either yet.  I did have the cabinet temp run away from me on an overnight smoke and a PID would have been helpful (OBS).  Heck, even a simple thermostat would have been helpful. 

I don't have the digital model.  I spoke with Brian up at Bradley a couple or few weeks ago.  He said the digital will show the true temp and you're going to see a swing.  Some others just show the set point, like my oven, and you don't really know what's going on in there.  But, the programmability is nice for staged cooking.
