Wow Hawkeye, that's over 3.5 hours/pound.  I'll bet it's gonna be great.

You came, you smoked, you conquered!

Where there's smoke, there's food.

Allman Brothers.

OK, I hijacked but the danged marathon pig has been eaten already.  So, I'll go OT and try to fit this in here.

There's an outdoor concert center in the next town (city) over.  Maybe 5-6 years ago the Allman Brothers played there.  There's a stage, quite a few rows of fold up chairs in front of the stage and then the blanket area in back.  I sprung for the chairs.  I forget how much, but maybe $15 per chair.  We were probably 15-20 feet from the stage.  A very great and memorable performance.

I'm done now.  Back to marathon butt.

Dickie Betts almost sounds like Pork Butts.

Hijacked? Heck, that pig don't care no more. He gave up, got ate and I'm happy!  ;D As far as I concerned, threads go OT all the time. It's not a big deal at all! The only thing I'm worried about is that 13lb brisket I plan on starting tomorrow. Might be Friday before it gets done.  ::)

CRG - Thanks for the link on the Allman Brothers.  Nice background info.

Hawkeye, sounds like you're into 24-28 hours on the brisket.  Can I come and visit?

See?  I got all y'all hijackers in trouble....
I'll behave better in the future.  Really.  Trust me.

But... didja save the chairs?  They'll go big on EBay...
And... think real hard now...  Didja see the Virgin Mary in the "seat wrinkles" when ya stood up?

Come on over Arnie. I thinking if you leave before noon tomorrow, you will be here way before that brisket gets done. I have lot's of Seemore's peanuts made up so you will have snacks until it's ready. Oh, and some beef jerky too!  ;D
