I haven't gotten my BOS yet (gotta wait for Santa...), but I was running some errands yesterday and thought I'd check out the selection of cuts of meat I plan on smoking (brisket, butts, ribs, turkeys, etc..).

Neither of the places I went to had bone-in pork butts.  I know that bone-in is preferred, but is there a noticeable difference between the two?

Also wondering what is considered a "decent" price on these items (I live in Dallas).

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have an HEB in Dallas?

I think you do.

They have Bone in Butts for $.77 lb right now thru the 24th.

Sam's Club almost always has boston butts.  Don't remember the price, sorry.I prfer bone in, I think they just taste better and are so moist when slow smoked.

Man CRG you guys get all the good buys on meat! I thought I done real good getting butts for .99/lb.

I would think a boneless butt would come out good as long as some of the fat was left on when they boned it out.
