How can you hang sausage, turkey, etc. in a digital six rack smoker.  Can you use dowel material from the hardware store? ???

Sorry, where's my manners....

Welcome to the FORUM.

HawkeyeSmokes

Sure can. Just make sure it's hardwood, untreated and not finished. I would smoke it first before hanging sausage on it and you should be good to go!

And welcome to the forum!

I see CRG beat me to it.  :D

Mr Walleye

Welcome to the forum Echo.

Here's another method I've used as well. The sausage is hooked to the rack with hog rings.

What makes them 2x's stay there w/out fallin?

Mr Walleye

I think they are 1x3 or maybe 1x2.75 to get the inverted rack as high as possible. I did cut a slight angle/bevel on them so they could be situated in such a fashion that they lean against the side wall. Thats it... nothing else holding them and they have never fallen off, even with me banging around in there.

Have you even thought about putting an alum L bracket at the height you want it.

ie: BigJohnT 12 rack.

But you are much smarter than me, dang you. ;D

Definitely not any smarter CRG, just did my home work... it's easy!  ;)

Hell... I'm in the insurance business but I love to play in the shop in my spare time.

Hope you and your girls have a great Christmas too!

Took her to Deer Camp and she rode in the front seat with seat belt on.

She really smelt good.
