Looks good. How did you like the bread?

This is the sandwich that inspired me to post that recipe.
Some call it a Sandwich, For Others it is an Adventure

The bread was awsome and the house smelled wonderful baking it.

I go to Tampa a lot because my mom lives there, and I love authentic cuban sandwiches.
They're deceptively simple to taste so awsome.  The secret is in the bread and the marinated/roasted pork.
You absolutely can't reproduce it without the cuban bread.

---and a FLAT sandwich press - it can be done with a flat griddle and a heavy cast iron skillet though.
(or a brick wrapped in foil) -A "paninni" press won't do it right.

The picture was blurry, but I have a commercial sandwich press that I usually use to make BBQ pork sandwiches.
In western Kentucky, pulled pork is served on white bread and heated in a flat press.
Comes out smashed really thin and slightly crispy.

That's what I'm making tomorrow night with the butt Squirt dropped off today!
KY/FL basketball game and pulled pork sandwiches...  Man oh man...

That "Adventure" sandwich looks good too!

That looks great, Hal.
Have always been curious to try a Cuban sandwich.  Now this is a must try.

I've had them in Miami and Tampa (Ybor City) as well..
We can duplicate the pork fillings here, but it's that bread that makes it work.

Look great, Bubba!

I hope that butt works for you...   It was a stubborn little piggie.

hal, that sammie does look like $$$$.

Nice Job Buddy!

And great score on the Butt!

BTW, I gave all but two lbs of those two butts away also.

I did it knowing it was the best Butt I had every slapped and smoked.

So...  where did the Smokin' Monkey go?

And how did that urchin get my name?
