I'm trying the easy route first...

See, I have a lot of crap in boxes..
I have TWO bathrooms to remodel.  Nothin' major, just painting, updating the countertops+faucets, new towel rods, etc..
Still, it's a lot of work...

And MrsD expects those to be done - BEFORE I build a home for the new BEAST.
Are y'all with me yet?

Q, I'm afraid when the Beast (hal) breaks lose it won't be pretty.

He'll be slaughtering animals on the side of the road to cook!

Did you ever watch the "Never Ending Story"

That weird animal with the RED eyes that was just waiting for the right time to...

JUMP!... That's hal!

I can tell you this definitely doesn't work in a small square 9x9" cake pan!!!  I misread/misinterpreted your original post and thought you had 2 cake mixes in 1 large pan so obviously I figured 1 cake mix = 1 small pan.  Ummmmm, no.  LOL.  It still tasted darn good and gave me an idea of what it will be like when done right but it had the consistency of pudding, not cake.

But no worries, there will be a next time.

I am sorry for the confussion. I had put this note about halfway thru the post!

Try it again, It is good!

Event though the origional recipe calls for 13x9 she has stopped using that.

She said it made the recipe too gooey.

These two pans were a 12x17 and a 10x15. She said she use to make (1 recipe) it in a 11x16 pan but
that I (me?) lost it or used it for something. Geez! ;D

Also she said she has made it with the sugar on top and added chopped pecans.

She has cut it to bigger sections and added a halve strawberry to each piece.

Also she has left off the sugar on top and put cool whip on it.

NOTE: She made these with 1/3 less fat cream cheese.

I will definitely try again.  And don't worry, it wasn't you, it was me.  I showed the wife the thread after my disaster and she saw right away what the issue was.

She gave about 1/3 of those TWO cakes to my oldest son and 2/3 stay Home.

They lasted about two days.
