I would take it and run like the proverbial thief in the night!

I would give them their $54 grab those bellies and run like you stole something and the cops are coming!!! There should be lots a BACON in your future. Cut the bellies into Bradley rack size and vac seal then freeze, they freeze well.

That is an excellent price around here. I have to pay at least twice that and that is considered a good price. Also I would have to buy the whole case which I think is around 60lb.  Where are you at?

KyNola

I have a source for bellies locally but the issue is I have to buy them by the case. 10 to a case and each belly is approximately 11 pounds.  I have a chest freezer but that's a LOT of bacon!  It's also not $.90 per pound either.

10.5, you got an estimate of how long pork bellies will freeze and still be good?

Thats a good price, $.90/lb is just under what I've been payin.

Last case, 110 lb, I bought took just over a year to consume and I only made it into bacon as I needed it. Each 11 lb slab was sealed in its own bag when I got them. Couldnt a diff from the first to the last slab.

KyNola

Thanks for the info 812 on how long it would last in the freezer.  That's good to know.  May reconsider now!

Go for it brother.

If I lived closer I'd go in half with ya.

Thanks 812.  I'm thinking 110 pounds of bacon isn't totally absurd for two people in the house is it? :D

Depends on whether you substitute BACON for the jalapenos in ABTs...  ;D

Thats only 1 pound per person per week. I don't think it is nearly enough to sustain you for a whole year Kynola. Better get two cases!!!

Hal it is all in how you wrap the bacon around the cheese!!!

I wonder how low of a temp we could run the Stumps at...   We could do all 110 pounds of bacon at once!
