Foodsaver V3840

I took my brokern V2840 back to day, replaced it with a V3840
The mother of all sealers, I hope
Came with marinating box and 2 wine corks
Its destined to become an every day use thing now

First impressions
Not an entry level machine
Size and weight substantially more than V2840
Very easy to use

Of course I had to try it out and there were things waiting to be vac sealed

First large salami
Cut bag to required size, insert in sealer tray and seal bottom of bag
Insert salami, insert top of bag in machine
It starts the seal process as soon as it senses the bag
Awesome vacum, way better seal, totally automated right through to final seal

Next up
Left over pulled pork from Super Bowl party
repeat making required size bag using larger size material
Turned out that the edge of the bag was not perfectly flat so I had to re cut
Insert in vac channel, amazing vacum, amazing seal
One day lunch is going to be amazing when I pull it back out of the freezer

I think I am going to love this
All I wanted to do was slow smoke some ribs.  Another addiction created thanks to the Bradley that requires regular servicing...  But what an addiction to have.  Even better to share here with some of the best people on the planet.

Would you like smoke with that sir ?

That's the one I have and love it. I like the fact that you can stop the vacuum when ever you want for delicate items and the wet food setting for the seal. Never had a leaker since I got mine.

Sounds like a great sealer.

I have never heard of leftover pulled pork...what is that?  How does one end up with it?   ;D

It did happen.  I tend to over cook when company comes and some how we ended up with leftovers
I thought we had a couple or 3 ribs too but they are no where to be found   LOL

Try starting with ~32lbs of pork and only feed 6.

You should have at least 1 serving left to vac seal.

I have a 9 lb butt in the smoker now.  I am suppose to bring it to WI this weekend with me for my brother-in-law, man I hope I don't eat it all first.  Of course thats if it ever gets done since its 14 and wind chills below 0..Brrrrrr. 

Used BBBR on this one and only had 2 hours of hickory left so it is also getting 2 hours of cherry (first time for cherry).
