Seeing how JJC did his fancy stuff again and I quote:  <blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">Alright, Olds . . .

You have now received 57 Yes votes out of 57 votes cast. There are 862 members as I write this. I have checked in with my statistician friend, and she has said the following:

1) if this were a clinical trial, it would be unethical not to end the trial and declare the treatment a success and begin using it

2) if all members were to vote, the chance of there being more than 5% of the members casting a no vote is less than 1% (less than 1 in 100)

3) if all members were to vote, the chance of there being more than 20% of the members casting a no vote is less than 1 in 10,000

Bottom line: there is no reason to continue the voting process, since it is obvious that the outcome will be a resounding vote for a direct link. There may be other reasons you want to continue the vote, but if you wanted to get an accurate sense of the membership, you got it!

<hr noshade size="1"><hr noshade size="1"><b>Greetings Mr. Wade Bradley,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Raye Minor, and I'm a member of the Bradley Forums. My handle is Oldman (Olds.)

The reason I'm writing to you, Sir, is there is a current project that several of the members have taken on. It is a collection of time tested and proven recipes; furthermore this project also addresses related issues.

Currently we have several hundred hours into this project, and we asked the members if they would like a direct link to this work listed at the top of each forum. The poll results, to date, are 100% yes with 57 replies. We would like the link to read: "Member's Recipes."

You may view this poll at this address:  http://www.bradleysmoker.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1549

This is the address of the recipe page, and it is titled: "From The Bradley Smoker Forums – Recipes."  http://www.susanminor.org/smokers/index.htm We invite you to review our collective works.

Creating this page is a multi step process. The members of the "Bradley Team" are assigned a certain task. Next, their task is posted on a locked set of posting boards that I set up. Locked in the sense that only the Team may post there; however, there is one open board that allows the general members to post a recipe or to make a comment. This interim step between the gleaning and adding an item to the Recipe Page is used for edification and lay-out so my web master will know how we want it to appear on the Member's Recipe Page.

An excellent example of this interim step is a current item titled Food Poisoning And Food Hygiene. This topic is still on a locked board as I have not yet turned it over to Bill Muirhead (nsxbill) for editing before it is moved to the recipe page. I bet that Paul Woods (manxman) has a good 100 hours into this article. Plus I have 10 hours into it so it looks like it is coded as a HTML document for visual layout. Again this is so my web master will understand what we want in the finished item.

You may review this item at:  http://www.susanminor.org/cgi-bin/iB3/ikonboard.cgi?s=b967d15b9b061fdb6dc472176a464c38;act=ST;f=44;t=173

There are also other articles researched and written by other members as well. In fact, this piece by Paul is only the first part of his current assignment. Another major item being worked on by John Castellot (JJC) and myself at this time is at least good couple of hundred collective hours away.

With all of this said, we beseech you to review all items and consider our request. I know I speak for the whole group in asking this request of you, again: Sir, we would like a direct-link titled "Member's Recipes" at the top of the forums.

Thank you for your time in this matter and we respectfully remain...

I see Chez has resumed his normal post level but the Admin-Good  Guy label looks like it's gonna stick (as well it should!) [:D]

And I believe Olds deserves a hearty "well-done" on his Millenium Membership! [:D][8D][:D]
