Sorta baked beans, sorta chili

This recipe came with my first Carolina Treet order.  It was excellent to I thought I would share and See if anyone else has tried it. Of coarse I had to put my own twist on the recipe....

Original Recipe From Carolina treet:
31oz can Porn and Beans
1 onion chopped
1/2 green pepper chopped
1lb ground beef
1/2 cup Carolina Treet
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
salt pepper to taste

Brown the ground beef and combine all ingredients in casserole dish.  Bake at 350 for 35 minutes

Snelly Smokes Em's version
1/2lb ground beef
1/2lb pork spare rib meat.

Now of coarse I had to add my own smokey twist to it.  I had some leftover skirt meat from some spare ribs that I had trimmed St. Louis Style so I smoked that for three hours chopped it up and in place of 1/2lb ground beef. 

You have to try this baked beans recipe.  I was great!
Is it bad if my wife refers to the smoker as "The Mistress"?

That would be good on the bottom rack of the smoker, while you had a load of ribs going..

I do love beans and am a big fan of CT! Did the beans pick up some smoke flavor?

Sorry I didnt get back to this post sooner.  It had a little smokey tasted from the pork that I added.  I saved some pulled pork from my last pork smoke and I am going to add it into the beans next time.  The next time I use leftover rib me I am going to heavy smoke it the whole time that is in the smoker with mesquite.
