Tabys birthday is on the 10th so we, Taby and I, cooked up her birthday dinner this weekend. Squirt shot me a recipe and I had to give it a try, this is what he sent me.
The ribs rubbed and ready for the smoker.

Set the smoker to 220 F and loaded up 3 hr Pecan. I did the 3-2-1 and misted them with some apple juice mixed with some beer and warmed up. After the foil I didnt put on any sauce just misted them again. Sauce is on the side at our house, add it if you want.

The rub was good just needs some tweekin for me. I thought the basil was a little strong but after havin some ribs for lunch I think its the thyme thats to strong. I will do this rub again startin with only half the thyme. We cooked 3 full racks, some green bean castroll, mashed taters with cream cheese and gravy. The gravy was made usein the drippins from a brisket. Taby wiped up some corn bread muffins that had a yellow cake mix in it, that was good. We are quite the team in the kitchen. Taby had some friends over and all that was left was just enough for me to bring in for lunch.

Very nice..

I'm going to try that rub as well, but based on your feedback, maybe cut all the 'Italian-ish' herbs down by 1/2.  Perhaps run them through a coffee grinder to pulverize them.

My thoughts exactly. I was goin to grind the parsley, basil and oregano but I wanted to do the recipe as is to see what we got. Yes the Italian-ish herbs are a little over powering. I'm startin with girndin the flaky stuff and cutting the thyme in half and see what thats like.

For the first tat don't go over an hour of needle work.

She might not be able to take the pain!

She has been drawing some NICE pictures of a rose, I think she is gettin closer to what will look good.

I here it really hurts to have a tat on the side above the hip.

Shes pretty tough I think she can take it. She got hit with a ball last night right in the eye and was bitchin after dinner cause it wasnt leavin a bruise, or as we call them a "Battle Scar"

The coach calls her farm tough.  ::)

Great birthday dinner for the young lady.  I remember when I turned 18, oh so very long ago....
I like the idea of apple juice and beer for the mopping on the ribs.  I will mention that to Mr.

The dinner was all Tabys Choice. She picked out what she wanted and WE cooked it. We had a good time doin it too, thats the part I'm goin to miss the most when she goes off to school.

At least the collage shes goin to is only 100 miles away.

... and the food will be awful, so you'll see her back home often!
(when you aren't carting coolers of frozen smoked goodies to her dorm)

I can see it now.....

Open the door to the fridge in Tabys room and its full of REAL food.

Open the door to the fridge in Saras room and its full of junk.

Tabys room smells like Pecan smoke from warmin up some good food.

Saras room smells like grease from the fries.

Sara spends more time at Tabys room to enjoy some REAL food.

Oh Ya Sara is another girl Taby knows, they both play ball in the same league, who is goin to the same collage.
