This was part of my ICB menu that I never got around to postin'.

Dry ingredients for cornbread and 3/4 cup salsa verde

Mix it up till no lumps.

Grease your skillet and put in a 450* oven for about 5 minutes. Pour in your mix and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

Cut it up in what ever shape you like.

Add a little butter. Delicious.

Looks good.  Do you use the salsa verde instead of the buttermilk, oil, and egg mix?  Two cups of cornmeal mix?

There you go, call the judges, we need a re-count.
Rodney Dangerfield got his material from watching me.

Honest Injun, this thought came from a dream.

I had a dream that I made this.

I told my Wifie about it and she said, that it sounded pretty good.

I really didn't want to get into figuring out how to make it from scratch,

if it didn't taste good. I found some Martha White pkg cornbread mix that only

required water to make and subed the Salsa Verde for the water.

Now that I know how good it taste, I'll try and find a way to make it from scratch.

The Salsa Verde is my recipe. I make 2 to 4 quarts a week and the House smells

delicious on the days I make it. When I make some Salsa next week I'm going to

add a few more jalapeno's to the mix that are left a little courser to give it more eye appeal.

So if you want to try it, you can buy some can salsa and cornbread mix that just needs water.
