Ontario Canada Smoke Out

Well I have been reading the board as I usually do almost everyday, multiple times a day and see that smoke outs are popping up all over the place.  OK, Pennsylvania and Florida might not be all over the place but both locations are south of the Canadian border.  So Cannucks??????

When I read the Florida post, I started thinking ( which is always dangerous and hurtful ) why are we not having a smoke out in Canada, particularly in Ontario?  Selfishly speaking I live here and I am a little biased ! and there seem to be lots of members here

WELL, WHY ARENT WE ?

Don't get me wrong.  I am going to attempt to get to Nepas smoke out but I sure as hell wont get to Florida.  Nepas is still about a 9 or 10 hour drive from my home stead and quite a hike.  But it could be a good hike depending on how things go until then

I live in Oakville,Ontario which is about 20 minutes west of Toronto and a little over an hour east of Niagara Falls.  I don't have a huge yard and house but I would be willing to contemplate to host such an event.  I do live in a mini forest on the side of a ravine.  And of course our American friends or even further would be welcome if they had a hankering for some Canadian hospitality.

I know there are members in Scarberia, Kitchener, Mississauga, and other places that contribute to the board.  Sorry if I missed any obvious locales.  Of course we have our Cannuck friends in the east and west as well.  We would have to plan this during the  few weeks we actually have summer here but so as to not conflict with any of the other smoke outs that are going on.   I have enough electrical that I could probably support a number of smokers going in the yard plus a gasser for finshing things off that need to be finished off.

So initial thoughts would be appreciated. Any interest?  Is this something we should pursue?  I am curious to see if this idea has any serious legs.

I hope you start a new tradition in Canada, OS!!!!
Perhaps when Scott and I finally get to do our Canadian vacation - a few years off - we can time it to coincide with a Smoke Out!!!

Alright!!!  I think a Canada Smoke out would be great!

So initial thoughts would be appreciated. Any interest?  Is this something we should pursue?  I am curious to see if this idea has any serious legs.

I had the same initial concerns but we have had a lot of interest and I think its actually going to go down in October. It would be a little hard for me to get up there but would love to see pics and here great stories!  Thanks NEPAS for getting our minds thinking!

Heck most of Canada, and New York, Michigan, Ohio, etc.. is already here for the winter anyway.

Depending on the timing I wouldn't mind checking something like that out. 5 hour drive from Ottawa so not out of the question.
