Turkey time!

I had a similar problem as Snelly, when I took the breasts out of the foil, they fell apart (there are usually 2 or 3 in one of these)   I think the problem is they they were completely thawed.   It they stay a bit frozen in the inside - they 'stick' together better.

Oh well.   I have to cut them in 1/2 to fit them on the slicer anyway..

Nothing much on the Turkeys itself, just a bottle of Carolina Treet.

(lousy picture - it's raining and I wanted to get the doors closed)

Roughly 18 pounds of turkey there.

In the water pan went some leftovers of my brisket concoction..

Bottle of Guinness
Handful of garlic cloves, smashed
Minced onions
Bottom 1/3rd of a jar of sliced Jalapenos, including juice

3 hours of Pecan in the tube.

We'll check back later..

That's the skin.   I peeled it off, put the CT on, then slapped it back on top.

Thanks guys..

Oh, and all that stuff I dumped in the water pan?    Waste of time.  I didn't notice any difference in taste than when I do one of these with a pan of plain old hot water..     Duly noted.  ;)

I'll stick with the Pecan smoke and Carolina Treet slather.

I think for the Turkeys he put the cowboy braise in the water pan.

He's saying that didn't make a difference with the turkey.

Correct...    I just put some of the leftover beer/onion/jalas in the water pan in the Bradley..  Didn't make much if any difference to the turkey.
