Well I took a good two hours to explain what I saw from the last two postings only again to have this site lose my information after pre-view.

Today I work on the reply from my outside office. That now is 4 systems where I have had problems here. Don't anyone give me any crap that is it an IE problem. I have posted about this problem before... but~~~~

I'm so ticked off that I'm ready to go to another site and offer my knowledge there. In fact I do regret leaving the organic posting boards of three years back so I could help out  here.

I'm not angry with the members here... but I think it has come time for me to make a major change in my offering here.  I don't need to waste two hours of my life on a posting that goes poof.

What I'm going to do is set up a gardening area on the recipe site. I will still author a section on gardening as long as the newsletter allows me.  However, I will only reply to questions on a set of posting boards I know will not dump my reply(s).

Most issues are user related..IE8 or FF or Opera, or whatever....most likely a permission's thing or something in YOUR setup. Not the board.

Hi MyBad

This is definitely a problem between IE and this version of SMF Board not a user error.

Thanks for that info I will pass it along,

Have you tried using compatibility view on one of your home systems with IE8?

My home system is running Windows 7- 64 bit. with IE8  and using compatibility view I do not get the text jumping .

Correct me if I am wrong , When Compatibilty View in IE8 is turned on is that not the same as running IE7

Thanks Brian

I would think that would fall under user setting?

Brian first I must apologize. I went back and looked at the system in my outside office and I will be danged if Bob had not upgraded it to IE8.

As to your question I have posted it on a couple of gaming boards I still have connections to. If anyone is on  top of stuff it is hard core gamers. My best quess is that IE8 in compatiblity mode is the same as runnning in IE7 with XP. As soon as I hear back I will bring you up to speed on this question. I will create a new posting directed to your person concerning this matter.

A fair point but poorly made when there was no documentation until Brian spoke up.

Hi Mybad

I think the point is you should not have to run this site in compatibility view.
There is a problem between IE 8 and SMF Forums and it has nothing to do with how you set up your user settings in IE.

Raye

Thanks for the update.

I think this thread has been highjacked just a little off topic  ;D
Lets let this one go back to the tomato topic and any further updates on the text jumping problem can be posted in a new topic.

I will start a new topic when I have some more information or If you get any answers from your gamers please start a new topic and post them there.

Thanks

Brian.

Bring on the Tomatoes.

I enjoy seeing and learning new things.

A garden in a 5 gal bucket sounds like my kind of gardening.

I might even pull the weeds out of that thing. ;D

Well that's the way it is though. The only reason I even posted was because of this post.

Someone so frustrated they are ready to quit posting, yet a simple click, in there browser sets things straight, or use a different one.

That is why I suggested to start a new thread, so your issue could be examined. I don't think my point was poorly made at all. I think your complaint about your valuable time lost, does not really lend it's self to finding out what's wrong.

I suggest that Bradley (Head Office) Brian update the board to the latest SMF.  Anyway I apologize for rambling on...MB
