« on: April 29, 2005, 08:38:27 pm »
Hello everyone. I'm looking at buying a sealer.  I have a budget of 250.00.  I need one that uses cheap bags and good quality.  Thanx

If you want to bump the budget a little up to $299, Cabelas has a stainless one on sale now.

I think you get what you pay for. I have the Foodsaver turbo. I think my old foodsaver has more vac. but this one is faster and has a bag storage.

Using the sealer I purchase takes learning the unit. Plus go with 4 mil pages and not the three that is offered... Talk with Doug and I know he will work with you on this.

Hey Olds

So now the big question. Having used the sealer for a while what are your thoughts?

When in doubt smoke it.

I cannot recommend it to the average person...especially with 3 mil pages.

Just as an aside if you have a Kohl's around you they carry the Foodsaver unit there. I have a Khol's card just to get the special 10-15% discount cards that can also be added to their other specials. I bought a unit a couple weeks ago when they had a 10% sale plus I used a 15% coupon plus they were giving $10 gift cards for each $50 spent. I made out like a bandit. Just don't keep a balance on that Kohl's card.

Smok'em if you got'em

Bought this one Vacupackat the Sportsman show for about 250, I think it beats the Foodsavers, though I like the actual Foodsaver bags better.
