... grazing around the meat counters.

She went to do a little grocery shopping today and came home proud as a peacock.  "Look what I found!"

  • Two Angus Top Round roasts, 4.5 pounds each at $1.77/Lb (one is in the oven on Slow Cook; too lazy to smoke today).
  • Three packs each of chicken tenders and thighs.
  • Your soda?  Sorry, forgot that but check out this lamb.
That's the good news.  But, now, she's on the jewelry channel.   >:(

Where there's smoke, there's food.

Is it bad if my wife refers to the smoker as "The Mistress"?

Momma dun GOOOD!! You might volunteer to do the dishes tonight just to be nice. Might get lucky and have the planets align and get lucky later. Never mind that's probably pushing it ;D ;D

Be careful about calling yourself and EXPERT! An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure!

OK, here's what momma and I done did.  Yeah, I know, no smoke.

Top Round on Slow Cook - about 260-280.  Just a light S&P rub.

Pulled at about 136 and rested while I jacked the oven up to 425.

Back in the oven for 15 minutes or so to crisp.  Final IT was about 140, kinda high for me but wifey likes it.

Let it rest again while wifey made garlic mashed potatoes with butter and buttermilk as well as steamed broccoli.  She's my sous chef.  Not bad lookin' either.

Sliced up some for the table.  I just used beef broth for an au jous.  No thickener or other spice.

That's MY dinner plate!

Plus, there's a bunch left.  Here kitty, kitty - actually I was surrounded by them during this whole ordeal..

These days "getting lucky" means she doesn't wake you up with a violent jab in the ribs to tell you to stop snoring.

 :D  :D  :D
I don't think there is a wife on here that doesn't appreciate that remark!!!  :D

You guys are too much.

KH, you should really have your own late night show - if you can stay up that long.

LQ, I've been woken up in the middle of the night with the wife screaming "The cat is on fire!".  Snoring seems kinda benign at that point.

Don't worry about the hijack TT.  We're all here having - we're doing - what are we doing here?

Damn Arnie, that roast beef and every thing else looks GREAT!

Can I have a plate?
