Nepas Freebees

Long but funny story.  Back a couple of months Nepas offer to split up a case of collagen casing for anyone interested.  I figured why not and put my order in.  We did have some concerns about shipping the casings across the border but thought I would take the chance.  I asked Nepas to throw in a couple of packages of spice or such as I don't have a lot of selection up here in Yukon.  I sent the money with some extra for the spices and waited.  Well it never showed up.  I believe the border Nazis stopped the package and would not allow the animal by-product into Canada and they just kept the spices.  Nepas felt real bad and said he would make up another package and send it off.  Whoa boy this is not your fault and I knew I was taking a chance.  Besides I will be going to Las
Vegas in a couple of weeks and he could send it out to me there.  I sent him more money and an address at a cousin's office where he could send it and I would deal with customs at the border myself.  Nepas sends the package and my cousin forgets it is coming and this package arrives at his office.  They don't know what it is and it only has my cousin's name on it.  They finally decide to open it and look at all the goodies.  They were trying to figure out why someone would send them all this product, maybe looking for a free plug in the magazine they publish.  The name on the return address is in their data base so better call and find out what is up.  The staff just wants to take it home and try it out.  But the boss (my cousin) says he will call and find out what's going on.  Besides he wants to know which the best is so he can take that for himself.  Well they never got around to calling before the weekend and I showed up and cleared it all up, and got my goodies.  Left a jar of bbq sauce for my cousin.  I almost didn't end up with my spices TWICE.  Had a great laugh.  Here is the real kicker.  I was supposed to get 12 collagen casings and a couple jars of spice.  Well here is what I received.....





Even a bag of his secret special rub.  I had to get a bigger suitcase to get it all home.  NO problems at the border, they never asked I never said anything. 

Looks like it is a two way street with Nepas and his freebees

Don't wait until Monday KS.  Try sprinkling some on fried eggs or into scrambled eggs for Sunday breakfast.  Good stuff.
