The temperature here is 89º F.

Wow, pretty cool. Sort of a delayed reaction before it shows up.

I found out where that's at. If you open up word and then select insert symbol on the right of the Shortcut Key near the bottom it shows you what to type for what you have selected. A lot of stuff you can pick.

Not to discourage you, but those ascii codes may not be interpreted the same way for non-us character sets, i.e. our friends across the pond.

I'm pretty sure our Canadian friends use the same character set.

So you're saying we could be inadvertently flipping them off.  ;D

In Theory....

More likely it will just not make any sense. but then again....

Also in the "Accessories" Folder there is a program called "Character Map".  I'm using Windows 7 and it is in a sub-folder called "System Tools", but I have seen it in the "Accessories" folder, somewhere, in all windows operating systems since Windows 98.  U can use this program for use with getting these same characters there and cut and paste in most software.  For example:

¼ ½ ¾ °
Bradley Digital 4 Rack Smoker, 8 Std Racks, cold smoke adapter, 3 alum. pucks, 2nd element, circ. fan, Dual probe PID

I hold down the "Windows" key and press L.  That locks the keyboard so that the cats can't order anything from eBay.  But I think they're working on the password  ;D

Also, using superscript and lowercase 'o' will give you degrees as in 60oF.  Kevin, where are you with 89oF?

Where there's smoke, there's food.

Thank SS.

I've been using Alt+0176 for the degree symbol, both work but using 0176 the symbol is smaller.

Alt plus
0176 = °
0186 = º

Oh yes, charmap rules.    I use it a lot at work for testing with international characters..

Just FYI on the 0186 character:
