Wow and my neighbour is just planting his garden here.
I like to walk threw life on the path of least resistance. But sometimes the path needs a good kick in the ass.

Chance of frost here tonight, had it thick on Tuesday night. I hope to put my tomatoes and cukes in this weekend. A farmer friend from the area says we are not frost free around here until after the first full moon of May and only until the first full moon of September.

I'm jealous Raye.  Boy, would I like a garden tomato instead of the plastic variety in the stores.

It has been nasty cold up here.  Hit a high of about 47 yesterday with rain.

I gave some of my pepper seedlings to my wife's girlfriend's father in Yonkers, NY (from Italy, 89 years old).  He grows everything from seed.  He put his cucumbers out and they got nailed.  Luckily he kept the peppers inside.

Really poor weather for this time of year.

Cool! I have picked 4 jalapenos already and got a bunch more that will be ready Sunday. Mators are just starting to turn. Won't be long now.
The fight isn't over until the winner says it is.

It was snowing here the other day, no planting tomatoes here till the beginning of June. I do have my lettuce and onions in now.

Are the golf courses open yet in PA? I hear Crosby is looking for a tee time ;D ;D ;D

I thought this was going to be a rated R post for a second.

Living where I live it is  a micro climate. I grow stuff year around. Now the tomatoes I'm going now will not take the summer heat here but there are tomatoes that will.

While my garden is a "micro" it produces enough vegs year around for the three of us. That is until we get a hurricane. Then it is all start over again   :( I can bring some stuff in the garage but other stuff I can't.

bTW anyone here growing Rosemary? I got a bush that is going "a town a fire." Has anyone ever taken a few branches off of one and place it on your hot charcoals when grillin'? It will add an intesting flavor to your meat.

Rosemary - love it.  It doesn't work very well up here.  I've tried growing it for a few years.  It doesn't over-winter well if at all.  Buying a potted plant, never mind a bush, is expensive.  There is a world of difference between the dried needles and the fresh stuff.  Please feel free to send me a couple of sprigs  :D

Hope you pancreas has settled down for now.

Yep.  After several years of trying and failing, I have finally found a variety that seems to be able to take out cold once established.  I think we got down to single digits for a short time (several hours) a couple of times.  The bush is out in the open and not protected in any way, and looks and smells gorgeous.  Second winter and the thing is a bush 4' x 4' x 3' tall.  Also have one fig that is protected and is leafing out wildly.  The other - hasn't shown anything yet, but it was June last year before it peeked out from the roots.

Now the cuttings of rosemary and figs I stuck last year did not survive - they were in pots and not very well protected at all.  There are times I'd give my eye teeth for a greenhouse.  My cold frames fills up quickly.
