Did up some sweet bread, along with some other stuff, this weekend.

Started off feedin the starter, 1 cup turned into this Sun. morn used a bigger bowl this time.

Grabed a cold one, put a cup of the starter back in the jar and threw it in the back of the fridge then added the rest of the ingredients to the KA and walla.

Dumped that into a bowl to proof, and this is what I got after mowin the yard.

Grabbed a cold one and LIGHTLY dusted the counter with flour to roll out a log.

Cut that into 4 equally sized chunks and dropped them in the pans to rise.

Grabbed another cold one and went about doin my chores, 4 hr later we are ready to cook.

Outta the oven and coolin off a bit, got the are they done yet? for bout an hr till I let the girls dig in.

Now we can dig in. This loaf didnt make it through the night.

Mmmmmmmmmmm BUTTER.

I greased the pans for the 2 bigger loafs with some apple onion lard Arnie was kind enough to send me, just a hint of onion on them. couldnt taste the apple though.

Thinkin of replacin half the corn oil with some warmed up lard next time.

Baby steps son, baby steps.  ;D

Taby just called me askin if she could cut up another loaf, 2 down, startin on the third and it aint been 24 hr yet.

I think this might be an on goin thing.  ::)

Looks outstanding!  One loaf just wouldn't do, four is the perfect number, should last about 3-4 days.  Does it a taste of sweetness to it?  The only thing I think I've had that would possibly compare would be King's Hawaiian Bread from the grocery store.

It does have a sweetness to it but not overpowerin and I aint a sweet eater.

Get with CRG he has everything you need, this bread came from his starter.

Shipped up from Texas to here in Nebraska, probably the longest ride this starter has taken in 138 years.  :D

CRG, you get my PM about the starter a week or so ago?  Just curious, no rush but wanted to make sure you actually got it.

I guessed I missed it, but I did find it and I will fix you up.

When you first add your starter back into the fridge it grows for a few days and then settles down.

When I sent OU his, I mixed it one nite and pkg and shipped it the next and it grew during shipment.

I will mix you a starter today and let it sit in fridge for a couple days and ship on Saturday.
