Hello.  I'm in Mississauga Ontario.   Can anyone recommend where I can buy the various cure's that are popular in the recipe's here.   I'd prefer a store to a website if possible.

Habanero Smoker

I can't help you with Canada locations, but Buffalo, NY is about 2 1/2 hour drive; a little under 100 miles. In Buffalo you can visit Sausage Makers. Maybe you can make it a day trip, and cut through Niagara Falls on your way.

Here is there address:
The Sausage Maker, Inc.
1500 Clinton St, Bldg 123
Buffalo, NY 14206-3099

8:30am - 4:30pm EST, Mon-Fri
Customer Service : (716)824-5814

Hey there

Cures in the Toronto area is a challenge
You cannot get Mortons here, at least that I am aware of.  I have looked everywhere
Cross border shopping trip could be in order here.  Tops carries it in Niagara Falls NY

The other cures ( flavored ones ) you can get from Bradley or one of their dealers.  I use Halford in Alberta
Yes you have to pay shipping but no  sales tax and a decent discount seem to offset the shipping

Hope that helps
All I wanted to do was slow smoke some ribs.  Another addiction created thanks to the Bradley that requires regular servicing...  But what an addiction to have.  Even better to share here with some of the best people on the planet.

Would you like smoke with that sir ?

Hey! I'm in Montreal, same thing here, can't get cures in the stores. I went to a farmers market in town and one of the guys that makes sausages gave me his local supplier and a small container of "Nitrite Salt" to get started.

be careful - a few butchers around here sell that and it is not a direct substitute for Instacure #1 if you are following recipes. i believe it's like a Readycure or Tenderquick which has significantly less sodium nitrite.

i'm not an expert on curing by any means, but be sure to research this before following any recipes which call for Cure #1.

Hey have you tried this? Malabar spice

I recently ordered some cure from these people and they were very helpful and they even had a chemist on hand that called me personally to make sure all was going to be safe.  My order arrived within two days of processing. I am about 5 hours north of T.O. so you could probably drive there to pick up your order.

I agree with Monty. Find out what is the composition of the cure. Nitrite salt sounds like either pure sodium or potassium nitrite, which is used at a rate of 1/4 ounce per 100 pounds of meat, as to cure #1 which is use at 1/4 teaspoon per pound.

Smokey the Bear.

I bought my cure from the butcher shelf at Highland Farms.
If it has eyes and a head,I would probably eat it. Eh

Country Smoke

Thanks for the concern guys. I did call the supplier before using it and it`s a 6.4% mix, close enough to cure # 1.

Suggest you try La Baron's in Mississauga.

They have a good selection of "goodies".

Also, pucks are only $14.95 per box.

I`m sure that LeBaron does not sell cure.
Cure in Canada is a controlled substance. That is why it is hard to get here.

Le Baron sells the Bradley branded cures only
