I use Jan's rub. It was developed by Mrs KyNola. Of course Mr KyNola is claiming some credit but you the know the saying " Success has many father's...". I think legend has it she let him open the spice jars or something when she was making it.   ;D ;D ;D

Welcome Shasta.  Will be using Jan's for first time this weekend.  Have used Tou Douglas Rub with Love for pork and it was good.

If you like a little bite to your Butt, SALT LICK!

You can get the 4 spice clone here on the Forum.

Also if you have access to Head Country rub, it is great!

The Salt lick clone is:

Kosher salt
Black pepper
Granulated garlic
Cayenne pepper
.
in a 1-1-1/3-1/3 ratio

Also try the renowed Mr Brown:

I love the Salt Lick clone, but my all time favourite is:

2 tablespoons Chinese Five Spice
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons course kosher salt
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

Good God; there are thousands of possibilities.  One of the easiest is:

     • 1/4 cup Black Pepper, fresh cracked
     • 1/4 cup Paprika
     • 1 /4 cup Turbinado or Brown Sugar
     • 2 Tbsp. Salt, Kosher (if you brined, omit the salt)
     • 2 tsp. Mustard, dry
     • 1 tsp. Cayenne pepper

(Makes enough for one 6 - 8 lb. Boston Butt)

I am new to the Bradley smokers but at my house we use Head Country rub and sauces for almost everything, and have for more years then I can remember. It is easy for me to get here in Oklahoma.

Simple and easy - love it for pork ...  the "21" Rub
2 parts McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
1 parts dark brown sugar

For beef change the ratio to 3:1, then it's the "31" Rub

I like animals, they taste good!
