We leave for flat/unoccupied/green Illinois tomorrow AM, so I though I'd share a few highlights of our trip..

Natural History Museum

Citi Field

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I really dug  (ha) the Egyptian exhibits.

Lady Liberty

(including a look up her 'skirt')

Ellis Island   (some uncovered graffiti, and old photos)

The New York Public Library (main reading room)

In which I found the definitive guide to....

(sorry guys, couldn't resist)

That one's 10 years old. We have a new one now that's much different.  They've taken some things away form us like - cell phones and driving, smoking in parks or beaches, use of forest service roads etc etc etc.  They added some new things like HST and and ridiculous bylaws.  We also have a recycling program that doesn't pick up glass and a fantastic medical system that can't tell the difference between an ankle and a broken ankle.
Man, that library is out of date. ::) ::) ::)

They had Old Kentucky Whiskey in Egypt?

Much farther away now...  Back home in IL.

It was a quick (almost 'whirlwind') trip to NYC.

Ya know your only 2 hrs from me?

from me too ;D

We're already planning return trips to check out the 1000 or so things we missed this time. (including a proper Pastrami sammy for me)  The little hotel we found was a perfect (and reasonably priced) base camp. We will stay there again without a doubt.

We'll have to plan a meet-up next time!
