Holiday weekend meat sale

Local grocery here put twin pack of butts on sale, limit 3 per customer for 98 cents/lb.  Thought I would go out there expecting to find little bitty butts.  I was presently surprised and took my 3 twin packs home and tucked them away in the freezer.  The 3 twin packs collectively weighed 67 pounds!!

STC has been hammering some grocery for the last 2 days on butts at 79 cents/lb.  I know he has over 100 pounds stored away.  If I didn't have to leave room for 100 pounds of pork bellies in my freezer for some Illinois lunatics, I would go back tomorrow for 3 more twin packs.

Gotta love a holiday weekend in the South!  If we're not killing something or blowing up something, we're smoking something! :D

Nothing like that up here.  Maybe 1.99 - 2.49/Lb.  Rats.

Oh yeah, I've been on a buying spree this week...

In a coworker's cavernous freezer:

- 65 pounds pork butt (99 cents/lb)
- 60 pounds turkey breast boulders (he already had 20 stashed for me, picked up another 40 for around 3.25/lb)

In my freezer:

- 10 racks St Louis cut spares (2.65/lb)

I grabbed another 43 pounds of butt today at 79 cents/lb.     It's currently a 'work in progress'..  (uploading pics shortly)


Oh, and beer is close to $13.25 a case this week.  Only picked up 3 cases at that price - should have gotten more, but my trunk was full.   ;D

Next week, the shocking reality of FULL PRICED EVERYTHING comes back with a vengeance.

I got in on the $0.99 butts (about 20#)...
Heckuva deal considering Sam's went from $1.18 to $1.38 to $1.48, and then, yesterday, they were $1.58

I had another cooler in my back seat!  (plus a bunch of other cr@p - my car looks like someone lives in it)

I'm 'laboring' at the office on Monday...  I'll see if the beer sales are still going on, and still snag a few more over lunch.
