Butternut squash soup?

Gotta couple chix in the smoker and while cleaning the kitchen I spotted a butternut squash. Thinking about peeling it and cutting it up and putting on a rack above the chickens....Apple smoked butternut squash soup sound appealing at all?

Wow that sounds wicked. I love butternut squash soup. I get the Campbells kind once in awhile and now the Safeways up here have one that is kind of a fresh made one that is really good. But smoked would be over the top.

I would think your onto something here. I would top it with a bit of heavy cream, chili oil and toasted pine nuts.
