For friends and family mourning the death of U.S. Army Cpl. James "Chad" Young, Sunday's visitation was a chance to remember how much he touched the lives of others.  Young, 25, of Rochester, was killed Nov. 3 by an improvised explosive device while serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan, with the Army's 863rd Engineer Battalion. It was his second deployment to Afghanistan.

This pic I snapped is just a sampling...
The motorcade stretched for miles and miles.

I know there will probably be NO World peace until ......... but it is a great thing to hope for.

Just a shame we lose so many good people in these.

Thank You Chad for the ultimate sacrifice and my sympathy to his Family.

He got to "come home" on Veteran's Day..   Similar scene - Patriot's Guard and police/fire trucks in a motorcade that stretched all the way around town.

I'm assuming those folks who like to protest soldier's funerals chose to pass on this one with that massive bunch of Patriot Guards standing by?

God bless you US Army Cpl. James "Chad" Young and God bless the Patriots Guard too.

Eventually there is going to be one huge @ss whooping at one of these funerals when the protesters show up and confront the wrong Patriot Guard.  The witness testimony will go something like it did in Road House...
Sheriff: "You see anything Tink?"  Tink: "A polar bear fell on me".

My money's on the Patriot Guards. ;)

I saw each and every one of the Patriots Guards rolling by very slowly.
Got a very good look at those gentlemen.
Westboro better not even think about it.
It'll be their last protest, and no one will see d*mn thing.

They were rumored to be coming here, but ended up a no-show..

And yes, there would have been a whooping.

It's just a matter of time.

Up In Smoke

I have ridden several "missions" with the Patriot Guard, most here in Georgia, and a couple in West Virginia and into Ohio.
They are a Great bunch of people.
I would highly recommend a ride with them if you get a chance, It is an experience that cannot be put into words!!

May Cpl. Young rest peacefully in Gods hands.
I will be praying for his friends and family.

Some people are like Slinkies... They're really good for nothing.
...But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

A while back we had a funeral here in Huntsville, AL for a fallen hero. That preacher (is it Westboro?) applied for a permit to protest and was denied. They sued in court and won the right to get a permit. The city had to give them a permit but were able to restrict the location. Gave them the location in a vacant lot diagonally across from the church, about a block or so away. Prior to the start of the ceremony, in rolls a number of city buses and they parked around the protest group, in essence blocking them in and block the view of the mourners such that you couldn't even tell they were there. Someone in the city bus dept should have gotten a raise.

UIS, thanks for taking the ride.

Gus, whoever came up with the bus wall, pure genius.

Here in the North we have what we call a Hero's highway,
dedicated to our fallen boys in Afganistan
Hero's highway

Check these pictures and see what the Chatham Fire department did with U.S. Flag over the road...

May God bless God Bless Cpl. Young, his family, and his fellow soldiers.

Down here we have The Brazoria County Cavalry.  It's a great group of folks from all walks, highly respected as a group, who exist solely to support local area families of servicemen, police, firefighters and EMTs, both in times of sorrow and celebration.  I would love to see the day when someone takes them on in protest.
I like animals, they taste good!
