Nice color on them Butts!

How did they pull?

Shasta bob

one of them pulled good the other no so. it took 15 hrs using the pid. the weather was about 27 deg. at nite. & the temp didn't stay at the set temp of 225. do you think it was because of the ambient temp? or the fact i should install the second element.

Those butts look beautiful.

I'm curious, did you take both out at the same time, or did one of them take longer than the other?  What was the IT when you took them out of the smoker?
I like animals, they taste good!

I live where it is warmer than you so I don't have to fight the elements.

After the smoke, the Bradley basically becomes an oven and I think on cold

windy nites/days, your indoor oven would be better.

I love my 6 racker with dual elements. It is a cooking machine.

I'm kinda like BLSH, if you pulled them at the same time, one was not up

to as high of temp as the other. No two Butts are going to cook exactally

the same.

Also ...... FTC is your Friend and a Butt saver.

Shasta bob

they were taken out at the same time, i FTC for 5 hrs. this was impressive for me on my first try. next time i will need to add another temp probe is that what you guys do or just move the probe to the other piece of meat?

You did great, the color is Beautiful!

We are just trying to help.

Might want to think about a hand held instant read thermo.

Maybe ask Santa for one.

That thing will become your best friend.

Those butts look great Bob!
Sorry to hear that one didn't pull so easy --- we've all been there & done that.
Seems like, with two butts of equal size, that you could just go by the probe on one of 'em.  But you can't.

Sometimes, you just get a stubborn one.  You really will appreciate an instant read thermometer if you get one; the Thermapen is the best, but it's pricey.  They have a good one for twenty-something that works well too (just takes a few seconds to get accurate read--no biggie).  If you make sure all your butts are up to 195° IT, and then FTC for 4+ hours, they will always pull like hot butter
