Hey all! Mrs here.
Just for kicks and giggles, seemore found this recipe online - courtesy of ModernDomestic.com and we decided to try it.
OMG - it is GOOD!  Here it is.

1 1/2 C Heavy Cream
3/4 C firmly packed dark brown sugar
5 egg yolks
1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t ground ginger
1/4 t salt
1/2 C canned unsweetened pumpkin puree
1 t vanilla extract
3/4 c pumpkin beer - the only one available here now was Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale

In a heavy 2 qt saucepan, combine 1 C of cream with 1/2 C of the brown sugar.  Warm over medium heat until small bubbles form at the edges of the mixure - around 5 minutes.

In a medium bowl, combine the egg yolks, ginger, salt, cinnamon, and remaining 1/2 C cream and remaining 1/4 C brown sugar.  Whisk until smooth.

Remove the cream mixture from the heat.  Very slowly add about 1/2 C of the hot crem mixture to the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.  Pour the egg yolk mixture into the sauce pan.

Cook mixture over medium heat until mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon (if you run your finger through the mixture on the spoon, it should leave a clean trail).  Do not let the custard boil.

In a bowl, whisk the pumpkin puree and vanilla.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or up to 8 hours.  Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a medium bowl.  Cool custard mixture over an ice bath.
***I did this differently.  I let the pumpkin puree sit for three hours while the custard cooled on it's own.

When cool, whisk the pumpkin, vanilla and and pumpkin beer into the custard.  Cover with plastic wrap, placing the plastic directly on the custard's surface (this will prevent a skin from forming).  Refrigerate until chilled - preferably overnight.

Freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions.

If I could find my Ice Cream maker, I'd try that.

But then sometimes I can't find my car keys.

Does sound dang good.

I have an ice cream maker and it has never been used one time.  This recipe may be the motivation I've been looking for!

And it looks like you didn't bother using a bowl! And I know why?

I thought of your post when I was eating it.

I didn't have any beer so I just pour a little whiskey on it.

I licked the bowl! ;D
