Hi all,  I'm new to this forum but have a little smoke experience.  Now I'm going to attempt a whole turkey for the first time.  I would like some info on 1- When to start the smoke, 2- how long to leave the smoke on for a light smoke taste?  3-what wood chips do you recommend?

Thanx Brian ;D

Start the smoke when you put the turkey in.

For a light smoke on a turkey I would go with 2 hours (or less) of Apple, Maple or Cherry.

Try this to get your pictures going - http://www.susanminor.org/forums/showthread.php?488-Answers-To-Bradley-Smoker-FAQ-s&p=768#post768

I would not stuff the bird. The thinking is that you are cooking low and slow:

To get the stuffing to a safe temp (165F) (since it has been in contact with raw poultry) you will overcook and dry out the turkey.
